Director Foundry Operations

Location:

Skövde, SE, 541 87

Position Type:  Professional

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

Volvo Group Truck Operations in Skövde is currently undergoing its most significant transformation since the start more than 150 years ago, as we begin production of tomorrow’s sustainable powertrains. Alongside this exciting shift toward new products, processes, and flows, we continue to manufacture world-class combustion engines. The management team in Skövde is now looking for a new colleague to lead and support the Foundry organization through this transformation.

As the head of Foundry, we are not looking for a traditional manager – we need a bold transformation leader who can engage and communicate clearly, someone who consistently keeps results and people in view, both within their own team, function, and across the entire site.

Who are you?

For us, present, inclusive and result-oriented leadership is essential. We need you to cultivate a workplace where people feel supported, enjoy their work and grow. We want everyone to have the possibility to perform at their best and achieve their full potential. As a leader, you excel at building strong teams characterized by engagement and high trust. We also need you to dare to break norms and question existing ways of working to find the best way forward. Given our transformation, we need a creative, and at the same time structured, force for change who don’t stop at obstacles but rather open doors to new possibilities.

There’s a saying that you can move a mountain in two ways: one shovel at a time or with dynamite. While you might use different approaches to overcome obstacles, you never lose sight of the balance between daring and caring. Your communication skills will be essential. You know how to translate complex information into clear, compelling messages that inspire people at every level of the organization.

The Job

You will become part of the Skövde management team. Collaboration is central to our success, and you will play an important role in shaping our strategy and contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive our entire organization forward.

You will be the Head of the Foundry organization, encompassing around 500 people. You will guide and develop the cross functional management team in foundry in daily operational, tactical and strategic matters. By identifying and addressing the root causes of problems, you and your team will drive improvements to increase the availability and efficiency of our production flows. The job includes ultimate accountability for safety, production results, budget, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the foundry. Major transformation efforts will be ongoing in the foundry for years to come. You will need to guide these projects and drive the development of technology, processes, and people competence, and ensure everyone understands their role in this transformation journey.
